Terms of Service

The rules. Plain English. By using Rarix you agree to these — if you don’t, that’s fine, just don’t use it.

Who you have to be (eligibility)

You must be at least 13 years old to create a Rarix account directly. We confirm this at signup by asking for the year and month of your birth. If you’re under 13, you cannot create your own account, even if you say you are.

Children under 13 may use Rarix only via a Supervised Profile created and managed by their parent or legal guardian. The parent or guardian must be 13 or older themselves and is the legal account holder for the Supervised Profile and for all data collected through it. See the Supervised profiles section below.

If you’re in the EU, the local digital-consent age may be higher than 13 (commonly 14–16). Rarix does not currently offer service in the EU; when we do, we’ll publish per-country age gating before accepting signups from those countries.

You also can’t use Rarix if you’re banned from it (see Termination), if you’re in a country where US services can’t legally operate, or if you’re using it to break the law.

Your account

One primary account per human. Don’t share login credentials. You’re responsible for what happens under your account, even if it’s a friend who borrowed your phone — and you’re responsible for every Supervised Profile you create under it. Pick a password that isn’t “password.”

You can delete your account anytime from Settings on the web or in the mobile app. We don’t bury this option. Deletion removes your account along with every Supervised Profile under it and all data those profiles created — see Supervised profiles below.

Supervised profiles

A Supervised Profile is a sub-account that lives under a parent or guardian’s primary Rarix account. It is how Rarix lets collectors under 13 (and any other family member you choose to cover under your account) use the app without holding their own credentials.

The parent or guardian is the legal account holder for every Supervised Profile they create. By creating a Supervised Profile you represent that you are the parent or legal guardian of the child the profile is for, that you are at least 13, and that you accept these Terms on behalf of yourself and the child. You are responsible for all activity on the Supervised Profile under your account, including trades, public content, and communications, just as you are responsible for activity on your own primary account.

Supervised Profiles cannot sign in directly. There is no email + password, no password reset, no OAuth path for the Supervised Profile. The only way into a Supervised Profile is through the parent’s authenticated session. This restriction is enforced at the authentication layer, not just in the UI.

You can revoke a Supervised Profile at any time. From Settings you can rename, suspend, or delete any Supervised Profile under your account. Deleting a Supervised Profile removes its binders, scans, trade history, wishlist, and block-list with it.

Data generated by a Supervised Profile is legally your data. We treat it as belonging to you, the parent account holder, for access, correction, export, and deletion purposes. If you delete your primary account, all Supervised Profiles under it and everything they have collected are deleted with it. There is no orphan data and no separate parental-consent record outside your primary account.

Trades + parent approvals

Rarix is not a marketplace. We do not buy, sell, escrow, ship, or take a cut of trades. Trades happen directly between users. Rarix’s role is matching (suggesting fair trades from your collection vs. someone else’s wishlist) and facilitation (proposing, accepting, and recording the trade in each user’s vault). The legal transfer of any physical card or figure is between the two users involved.

Trade approval threshold for Supervised Profiles. Every Supervised Profile has a parent-configurable approval threshold for the dollar value of outgoing trades. The default is $50 USD. Any trade proposed by, or directed to, a Supervised Profile whose estimated value (per our internal valuation) exceeds the threshold must be approved by the parent before it completes. The parent can lower the threshold to $0 to approve every trade, raise it to trust the child more, or pair it with a value-delta cap on lopsided incoming trades.

Estimated trade value is based on the same market-source pricing described in Prices, valuations, and trade estimates below — it is an estimate, not an appraisal. A trade that clears the threshold at the moment of proposal does not require re-approval later if its market value drifts upward.

Acceptable use

Don’t do these:

  • Scrape the API or pages outside the rate limits we publish. Public showcase pages are fine to read like a normal user. Bots that pull thousands of pages an hour are not.
  • Hit the B2B endpoints without a key.If you’re building something cool, email hello@rarix.appand we’ll give you one.
  • Upload someone else’s copyrighted material as if it were yours. User-uploaded card art, custom proxies, screenshots from copyrighted media — don’t. We honor DMCA takedowns; see Contact.
  • Submit garbage to corrupt the catalog.Fake scans, intentionally bad metadata, abuse of the corrections workflow. We’ll undo it and ban you.
  • Try to break the service. Probing for vulnerabilities is fine if you tell us about it (security@rarix.app). Actively exploiting them is not.
  • Harass other users in any way the platform touches — handles, public showcases, the eventual social features. Be cool.
  • Target a minor. Contacting, grooming, pressuring, or coercing a Supervised Profile (or any user you have reason to believe is a minor) is a permanent, no-second-chance ban. Reports tagged minor_safety jump the queue and are reviewed within 24 hours.

If you find a bug or security issue, please report it instead of exploiting it. We’re a one-person team and we genuinely appreciate it.

Form submissions (/contact)

The /contact form is open to anyone — signed-in or not — for general questions, bug reports, partner inquiries, abuse reports, and feedback. By submitting, you agree to the rules in this section and to the data handling described in the Privacy Policy (Form submissions section).

Acceptable use of the form. Don’t use /contact to:

  • Spam the operator — automated submissions, form-flooding, mass marketing, link-injection. The form rate-limits at 5 submissions per 15 minutes per IP and runs a bot challenge; circumventing either is a Terms violation on its own.
  • Harass, threaten, or intimidate the operator or anyone the operator works with. The inbox is one human. Treat it accordingly.
  • Submit content that’s illegal where you live or where we operate (US / Delaware) — including but not limited to CSAM, doxxing, credible threats of violence, or material designed to assist in real-world crimes.
  • Impersonate someone else. If you put a name or an email in the form, it should be yours. We treat submissions as coming from the address you provide, including when we reply.
  • Use it as a back-channel to circumvent a block, ban, or suspension. If your account is suspended for cause, the form is not a workaround.
  • File false abuse reports in bad faith. Realminor_safety reports get reviewed within 24 hours; weaponizing that priority for harassment of another user is itself a permanent-ban offense.

We may review what you submit. Submissions land in a private operator inbox. The operator (and, where necessary, people the operator engages to assist with safety or legal response) may read, store, and act on the contents of your submission as documented in the Privacy Policy. We may also use the submission — together with the bot-protection signals captured at submission time (hashed IP, User-Agent, honeypot outcome, Turnstile outcome) — to identify abuse patterns and suspend the responsible accounts or block the responsible IP ranges.

What you grant by submitting. You grant Rarix a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store the submission, read it, reply to it, share it with safety-review or legal counsel where reasonably required, and use it internally to improve the product (e.g. closing a bug you reported). This license is limited to operating the service — we don’t publish your submission, syndicate it, or sell it. The license ends when the submission is deleted under the retention schedule in the Privacy Policy, or when you request deletion via privacy@rarix.app.

Bad-faith use of the form is a Terms violation. Repeat spam or harassment via /contact may result in an IP-range block (severing access for everyone behind that IP) and, where the submitter is identifiable to a Rarix account, suspension or termination of that account under the Termination section below.

Blocking + reporting

Any Rarix user — primary account or Supervised Profile — can block another user from the in-app profile menu. A block hides the other user’s public showcases from you, removes them from trade suggestions in both directions, and prevents any future direct interaction through the platform.

Any user can also report another user from the in-app report flow. We may review reports and the activity that led to them. By submitting a report you agree we can read the public and in-platform content needed to evaluate it.

Rarix may suspend or terminate any account or Supervised Profile that violates these Terms. Reports tagged minor_safety are subject to a 24-hour review SLA— we will look at them and take action (warn, suspend, terminate, or dismiss) within 24 hours of receipt. For urgent issues that can’t wait for the in-app flow, email safety@rarix.app.

Your content, our license to show it

Anything you upload — collection data, scan images, custom binder covers, photos — stays yours. You retain ownership.

By uploading, you grant Rarix a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty- free license to host, store, display, and process that contentonly for the purpose of running the service. If you make a binder public, that license includes showing it on rarix.app/u/ and rendering OG cards for sharing. If you keep it private, the license stops at us being able to display it back to you.

Content uploaded by a Supervised Profile is treated as content uploaded by the parent account holder for ownership and licensing purposes. The same license applies, and the parent — not the child — is the legal owner of the upload and is responsible for whether it complies with these Terms.

Delete an item, that license ends. Delete your account, all of it ends — including everything every Supervised Profile under it uploaded. We don’t keep zombie copies.

Our content, your license to use it

Catalog data — card metadata from Scryfall and the Pokémon TCG API, figure data from MFC and similar — comes from third parties under their own licenses. Scryfall data is used per the Scryfall data terms; we don’t redistribute it as a bulk feed.

The Rarix brand, design system, source code structure, the recognition models we train, and the editorial UI are ours. You can use the service freely; you can’t copy the brand or wholesale-rip the design system into a competing product.

Card images displayed in Rarix remain the property of their rights holders. Magic: The Gathering and all related card images are ™ & © Wizards of the Coast. Pokémon and all Pokémon-related card images are © The Pokémon Company / Nintendo / Creatures / GAME FREAK (1996–2026). Figure imagery is community- contributed and credited to the originating photographer where available. We are a fan-made tool; we do not claim any ownership over these properties and we are not endorsed by them.

Prices, valuations, and trade estimates

Prices shown in Rarix come from public market sources (TCGPlayer, Scryfall’s aggregated pricing, etc.) and are estimates, not appraisals. Use them for vibes, not for tax filings or insurance claims. We can’t guarantee any specific trade value.

Pull rates for blind-box figures come from community consensus (Reddit, Discord scrapes), not vendor PR. We try to be honest about that — the numbers move.

Affiliate links

Rarix may earn commission from links to third-party retailers (eBay, TCGplayer, Amazon, CoolStuffInc, etc.) surfaced as “Buy this card”, “Complete this set”, “Buy this figure”, or supplies CTAs throughout the app. We disclose every affiliate link inline at the CTA. The price you pay does not change because we earn commission; the partner pays Rarix out of their margin. Affiliate revenue funds the free-forever data tracker.

We are not the retailer. We don’t take payment, fulfill orders, handle returns, or guarantee any aspect of the third-party purchase. Your transaction is between you and the retailer under their terms. We don’t see your order contents, payment method, or shipping address.

Affiliate CTAs are hidden for supervised profiles (Family under-13 accounts). See the Privacy Policy “Affiliate links” section for the technical implementation (server- side redirect, no third-party cookies set by Rarix) and your opt-out path.

Service availability + changes

We’ll try to keep Rarix up. Sometimes it won’t be — deploys, infrastructure issues, occasional weekend maintenance. We don’t guarantee 100% uptime.

We may rate-limit you, suspend features, or stop operating parts of the service. We may change features, prices on the eventual paid tier, or these terms. If we make a material change to these terms, we’ll email you and update the date below.

Termination

You can leave anytime by deleting your account — two taps in Settings. No questions, no recovery email holdup. Deleting your primary account also deletes every Supervised Profile under it and all of their collection, scan, trade, and block-list data. Reports you filed are retained for our safety audit log but your identity as the reporter is wiped.

Wecan suspend or terminate your account, or any Supervised Profile under it, if you (or the profile) violate these terms — scraping, harassment, fraud, abuse of the corrections workflow, targeting a minor. We’ll usually warn you first if it looks like an accident. We won’t warn you for clear bad-faith abuse, and we won’t warn anyone sustaining a minor_safety report.

Disclaimers + liability

Rarix is provided as-is, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don’t warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the catalog data will be correct (we try; it gets corrected over time).

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Rarix LLC and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages arising from your use of the service — including loss of data, loss of trade value, or mis-identifying a card. Our total liability for any claim is capped at the greater of $100 USD or the amount you’ve paid us in the past 12 months.

None of this is meant to disclaim things we can’t legally disclaim under your local consumer-protection law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, except where local consumer-protection law gives you the right to bring a claim where you live.
