Free forever. No ads. Ever.
The collector tier is free, forever. The business doesn’t depend on monetizing you. Here’s how the money actually works.
What's free, forever
Everything that makes the kid-at-Comic-Con story work:
- Binders. Unlimited. Manual, smart, set-completion.
- Scan. Single-card and binder-page recognition.
- Public showcase. Your /u/@handle vault, free.
- Event links + QR/NFC. Tap-to-trade at locals or Comic-Con.
- Trade matching. Find fair trades from your actual collection.
- Multi-market prices. TCGplayer, Cardmarket, Mercari side-by-side.
- Basic Grade Candidate triage. Centering + corner heuristics on the cards worth a second look.
- Pull-rate analytics. Community pulls aggregated across every Rarix user.
Free isn’t a trial. Free isn’t a hook. The collector tier stays free.
No ads. Ever.
Not banner ads. Not native ads. Not behavioral advertising. Not third-party tracking pixels. No Google Analytics, no Segment, no Meta pixel. The business model is a free tracker plus optional Pro workflow tools.
Your data is never the product.
Pro = workflow acceleration
If you collect at scale and a feature would save you an afternoon, that’s the Pro tier. Sold as credits, per-use:
- Bulk binder-page scan. Drop a stack of binders, walk away.
- Advanced Grade Candidate reports. Multi-axis surface / centering / corner / edge analysis.
- Submission planner. PSA / BGS / CGC queue + EV math.
- Exports. CSV, spreadsheet, insurance-ready.
Optional. Pay when it saves you an afternoon. If you never need it, you never pay.
Pro can grow over time — more workflow features land as I build them. The rule that gates every new feature is simple: does it save you work, or does it turn you into the product? Only the first kind ships. No ad-targeting unlocked behind a paywall. No “social graph insights” sold back to whoever can pay for them. No attention-arbitrage wearing a Pro badge.
B2B is a separate product line
Card shops, grading services, hobby publications, drop-tracking partners — they pay for catalog access, pricing data, and provenance. They’d pay someone for that data anyway. They pay us.
That revenue lane funds the free collector tier. You stay free. Businesses get a product they were already buying.
B2B can grow too — more partners, more data shapes, deeper provenance. Same gate as Pro: the catalog and pricing data we sell is data about cards and markets, never data about you. No partner ever gets a backdoor into the collector tier. The walls are real.
The contract
One promise, plainly:
Free forever for collectors. No ads, ever. No data sale. Your binder is your binder.
If that ever changes — and it won’t — you’ll see it here first.
